It’s impossible to predict the next big thing, but it’s almost guaranteed to be something ridiculous. So why not alpaca toupées? That's a question answered by a playfully absurdist new campaign for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 smartphone from BBH New York.
A woman's chance encounter with the beautiful (and admittedly silly looking) creatures during a trip to South America inspires a rash decision. An odd combination of fashion, art and animal husbandry ensues, and a global phenomenon is born.
To enable her creative vision, this enterprising artist uses all the convenient features of her phone and its stylus—taking photos, shooting video, drawing mock-ups and creating a business plan.
The 60-second spot is directed by Nicolai Fuglsig via MJZ and is set against Grandmaster Flash’s remix of the song “Apache” by Incredible Bongo Band.
