Samsung is plugging its new foldable phone screens in a lively and playful new spot from Ogilvy New York that demonstrates just about all the things you can do with them. The ad, promoting both the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, shows a trio of users putting their phones to use in different ways, from folding it to use on video calls to using the double screen for work presentations, and watching Netflix in landscape mode. If you were wondering what the point of a folding phone was before, well, now you know.
Henry Scholfield of Reset directed the ad, which employs inventive angles and perspectives to enhance the spectacle around the phone's features. It's all set to Shirley Ellis’ " See It, I Like It, I Want It."
“Seeing a folding phone is cool, but it’s seeing what you can do with it that truly amazes," commented Marcos Kotlhar, chief creative officer, Ogilvy New York, in a statement. "Our goal has been to reignite excitement and intrigue among people who crave bold innovation and standing out over incremental changes and blending in. From the moment people lay eyes on these foldables, the new generation can see how each can flex to elevate their mobile experience in a powerful, freeing, and expressive way."
