Search for the Loch Ness Monster on Google Maps

The list of things you can do in Google Maps grows ever longer and more inventive. Last week, Google revealed an extensive tour of Abbey Road Studios in Google Streetview, and this week, it has unveiled mapping of Loch Ness that lets you search for the mythical monster both above and below water. Wired reports that to create the site, Google worked with the Caitlin Seaview Survey to produce an explorable map of the lake, which is 800 feet deep, including taking underwater shots with its 360-degree Streetview cameras. Existing Google Maps images of the lake are among Google's most popular U.K. destinations. As this video, made with Adam & Eve/DDB London, shows, it also worked with Adrian Shine, leader of the Loch Ness and Morar Project, who's an authority on the "Nessie" legend, to craft the project. Google also created a Loch Ness Doodle to mark the project.
