It's the 40th anniversary of the Summer of Love, and Paula Scher's annual Shakespeare in the Park poster, which has become as much a summer ritual as the plays in Central Park themselves, has turned on and dropped in. If this seems like quite a departure from previous posters, Scher notes that "the typefaces always change." But beyond the sheer pinkness of this one, "it looks different because I usually show all the copy, the logos and the two play names in the poster's center. Here, everything runs in the border." The client asked about this, she says, and the explanation was simple: "I wanted it to look like a pink blur."
