Watch Cate Blanchett's Face Turn to Stone in This Haunting Massive Attack Music Video
John Hillcoat Directs Film for Eerie Track 'The Spoils'

Cate Blanchett must have one of the most versatile visages in the acting world, but a new video for Massive Attack takes her face into a whole new dimension.
The video, for "The Spoils," focuses solely on Blanchett's head as it morphs from a human face, through various permutations of lighting, into a series of creepy masks, models and finally a stone statue whose features eerily fade away to the sound of the equally eerie track.
Australian film director John Hillcoat ("The Road" and "Triple 9") is responsible for the video, which was produced by Stink.
Blanchett is not the first respected actor to appear in a Massive Attack video: earlier this year, "Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike appeared in a somewhat gruesome video directed by Ringan Ledwidge, while Kate Moss also appeared in a psychedelic video for the group's "Rirtual Spirit."
