An invisible runner and her dog are no problem for a Volkswagen that can see in the dark
A spooky spot from adam&eveDDB highlights Night Vision tech
Editor's Pick
It’s a quiet night in the city, and a woman and her dog are out for a run. At least it seems that way in a new ad for Volkswagen from adam&eveDDB. Eerie effects illustrate how the evening darkness renders them virtually invisible to the naked eye—keys float and doors open and close on their own. Only the occasional shadow beneath a streetlight and the chill mist of steady breathing give away their location on the dark street.
Across town, the day is done, and a working dad heads home, on an obvious collision course with runner and pup. She is, after all, invisible, and distractions abound.
Fortunately, his car has better eyes than any human. The infrared camera detects the runner’s heat signature—and that of her loyal companion—well before crossed paths can become a tragic accident.
The cinematic spot for Volkswagen’s Touareg Black Edition is from adam&eveDDB and is directed by Niclas Larsson via new-land London, with music composition by Carlos Cipa and post-production by Untold Studios.
