A Cute Animated Penguin Checks Your Home Is Cozy in British Gas Spot

What is it with U.K. advertising and penguins? It worked for John Lewis, and now British Gas has introduced a cuddly animated penguin into its latest spot, a follow up to last month's No Place Like Home ad. The latest spot by CHI& Partners, with animation by Psyop, follows an inquisitive explorer penguin (who, we're told, is called Wilbur -- a name that conjures up more cuddly anthropomorphism for those familiar with "Charlotte's Web" ) who finds himself in a family home. As he explores the house, amazed by the hot water, heaters and even the fish tank, we're reminded how cozy our homes can be, and therefore of the role British Gas plays in maintaining them. Lauren Indovina directed the spot, and in case you're wondering, the voiceover is by "Selma" actor David Oyelowo.
