Members of Brazil's national football team sport the country's yellow football jersey in Nike's gorgeous photographed campaign. Shot by Platon, the photos feature players from the National Football Team clad in their uniforms, each in dramatic, arresting poses.

Explaining the process in a post on his photo agency Bernstein & Andrulli's blog, Platon -- who is known as a master of portraiture and has shot some of the biggest celebs out there -- said that he wasn't out to do a sports or a marketing picture, but to "make history" by photographing them in a unique way that represented their personalities, their families or religions. Neymar, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Paulinho, and Bernard feature in the lineup.

The campaign, created in-house out of Nike, will also feature Brazilian influencers -- musicians, designers, actors and more -- and kids who live in Brazil's favelas, all in the yellow jerseys. The concept itself came from a mural Platon is working on for the Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, with the idea being that the icons (the players and the celebs) were all part of the nation at large.

Nike's World Cup activities are picking up steam. Today, the brand also released a new global spot out of Wieden + Kennedy, Portland and directed by Jonathan Glazer.
