Former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger strips down to reprise his iconic role as The Terminator in an ad replicating a classic scene from the popular movie franchise, for videogame publisher 2K games' WWE.
Created out of BarrettSF and directed by Acne's Anders Jedenfors, the spot is a shot-by-shot recreation of the bar scene from Terminator 2, in which the eponymous cyborg lumbers into a biker's pub in search of suitable duds to clothe his bare body.
The patrons, however, are replaced by WWE champs, including Eva Marie, Daniel Bryan, Paige, Finn Balor and finally, Dean Ambrose, who plays the baddie that snuffs out his cigar on the T-800's chest.
"It's a nerd's dream: a painstaking recreation of a classic film with a relevant twist to the cast," BarrettSF Partner and Creative Director Pete Harvey in a statement. "Our hope is that people pull up this scene with the original to compare what stayed absolutely consistent and what subtly changed.
The new spot debuted on Monday Night Raw on USA Network and ononlien outlets. It promotes a special pre-order version of WWE 2K16, which will include Schwarzenneger's T-800 as a playable character in the game, which will hit shelves in late October. Schwarzenegger's latest Terminator film, Terminator Genisys, began airing in theaters this month.
