7Up - 22

7Up - 22 7Up and Leo Burnett returned to the Super Bowl in 1994 to continue the brand's confrontations with cola, this time bringing back the Spot saboteur characters that also came to the 1993 game ("Vacuum,""Blinds"). In an unusual but effective creative execution, both of 7Up’s spots are identical for the first 24 seconds, then diverge (see also"House of Cards"). In addition to Spot types, the ads star Diedrich Bader, then a cast member on "The Drew Carey Show" who would also be known for roles in the movie "Office Space," HBO's "Veep" and FX's "Better Things."The popular Spot shenanigans lasted through 1995, when Cadbury Schweppes bought Dr Pepper/Seven-Up. XVIII would be the final Super Bowl for the Spot mascots, and 7Up’s last big game until XXXII in 1998, when 7Up pitched viewers on a reformulation.BRAND:7UpYEAR:1994AGENCY:Leo BurnettSUPERBOWL:XXVIIIQUARTER AIRED:Q2
