Long-time Super Bowl advertiser Budweiser touts all things wind with a little help from Bob Dylan.
Showing a windswept Dalmation atop a beer-carrying stagecoach, this 45-second ad, which is set to Dylan’s classic 1962 song “Blowin’ in the Wind,” has all the hallmarks of the Oregon Trail—until the camera pulls back and reveals the wagon is crossing a prairie dotted with modern, Bud-branded wind turbines.
The spot is out of Miami-based creative agency David.
While the cinematic ad, titled “Wind Never Felt Better,” is meant to highlight Anheuser-Busch InBev’s commitment to using renewable energy in its brewing processes, the ad also marks the return of a Budweiser staple: eight of its famous Clydesdale horses, often a signature element of the beer brand’s Super Bowl commercials.
In 2018, Bud opted to use its Big Game spot to highlight its disaster relief efforts; that ad starred a real Anheuser-Busch employee springing into action post-emergency to package cans of water, but it was largely shot in a distribution center, meaning Bud’s Clydesdales sat out the Big Game for the first time since 2001.
