BBDO New York President and CEO Kirsten Flanik is leaving after seven years in the position and 18 years with the agency.
BBDO New York’s president and CEO is set to depart this summer
In an internal memo sent on Friday to agency staff, Andrew Robertson, president and CEO of BBDO Worldwide, confirmed that Flanik’s last day at the Omnicom Group agency will be July 15.
Nancy Reyes, who recently joined as BBDO’s Americas CEO, will take over Flanik’s responsibilities while the agency searches for a replacement, a spokeswoman said.
Flanik joined the agency 18 years ago as an account director overseeing BBDO’s Mars business. She was elevated to president in 2016 and added CEO to her title the following year.
Her departure comes five months after Reyes’ appointment and two months after it was announced that Chris Beresford-Hill was leaving Ogivly to join BBDO as chief creative officer of the Americas. He started in that new position today.
“It’s been a joyous run. Multiple agencies of the year. Celebrated campaigns. Incredible clients and friends,” Flanik said in a statement. “Overseeing a bastion for great talent. And the privilege of working with Andrew and David [Lubars, BBDO chairman and chief creative officer] for the past two decades. I am, and will be, forever grateful. I leave, knowing the agency is in great hands, and that the timing is perfect for me to explore my next chapter. I am excited for BBDO's future and my own.”
Flanik declined to comment on her next move.
