Investment firm KKR provided financing for the transaction. EagleTree Capital, a buyout firm that invested in Sparks in late 2020, exited its investment in Sparks as part of the sale to Freeman. The Freeman Company: Freeman reorganized in 2018 as The Freeman Company, with two core businesses: Freeman, its brand and event strategy, creative, event technology, digital and logistics business; and Encore Event Technologies, its event technology, staging and production services business. Freeman in October 2019 sold Encore Event Technologies to PSAV, an event services business acquired in August 2018 by buyout firm Blackstone. Freeman is a family-owned firm started in 1927. Donald S. (Buck) Freeman opened the business in Des Moines, Iowa, servicing local trade shows, fairs, parties and events.
