KFC narrows $27M U.K. review

[london and toronto] KFC cut the list for its $27 million U.K. account to two agencies, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, 49% owned by Publicis Groupe, and hotshop Clemmow Hornby Inge, both London, dropping the incumbent, WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather. A decision is expected this month. In Canada, Yum Brands' KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell will move to a single agency in early 2003 from three separate agencies. Priszm Brandz, operator of more than 760 KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell outlets in Canada, will choose an agency for its $32 million account by the end of the year. Seven Toronto-based agencies are pitching, including BBDO Worldwide (Pizza Hut), and TBWA/Chiat/Day (Taco Bell), both Omnicom Group agencies, incumbent Ogilvy & Mather (KFC).
