The capsule (which includes dresses, shorts, shirts and more) will be sold exclusively on Net-a-Porter and is set to drop later this month. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hill House Home (@hillhouse) Skims: Kim Kardashian’s DTC shapewear and apparel brand opened its first European pop-up store last Monday in London with U.K. department store Selfridges. It’s set to operate through July 8 and Skims has plans to open more freestanding stores in Europe and the U.K. over the next few years. Mejuri and Glossier: Both of these DTC brands are screaming for ice cream, apparently. From June 16 to 18, jewelry brand Mejuri hosted a “Scoop Shop” in Van Leeuwen’s flagship ice cream parlor. Guests received complimentary ice cream and got a first look at Mejuri's new summer collection. Last Saturday, Glossier, the millennial-favorite makeup company, gave away frozen treats at its stores to celebrate its new “Cloud Paint” blush shades. DTC dollars Otherland: The buzzy DTC candle brand was recently acquired by Curio Brands, which also owns fragrance brands Capri Blue and Thymes, for an undisclosed sum. Otherland’s co-founders plan to continue working on the brand. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Otherland (@otherlandco) Ten Thousand: This men’s athleisure brand just raised $21.5 million in Series A funding in a year when that kind of raise has proved difficult for many DTC brands. “As our repeat rate shows, once a customer tries Ten Thousand, they stick with Ten Thousand. And now with this funding we’ll be able to reach even more new customers through both continued digital marketing as well as further channel expansion,” Founder and CEO Keith Nowak said in a statement. Lalo: The DTC baby brand announced last Tuesday that it raised a $10.1 million Series A. Spin Master Ventures led the round and Kevin Durant, Babylist and others also participated. People on the move DTC bridal and fine jewelry company Ring Concierge recently hired Neda Whitney as its first-ever chief marketing officer. Previously, Whitney spent two years as the senior VP, head of marketing, Americas for Christie’s art auction house; and before that, she spent six years at R/GA. Clothing subscription box Stitch Fix recently appointed Matt Baer as its new CEO. Most recently, Baer served as the chief customer and digital officer at Macy’s. Stitch Fix Founder, Interim CEO and Executive Chairperson Katrina Lake will continue on in her role as executive chairperson of the board.
