Oreo-flavored Coke and Coke-flavored Oreos could be coming soon

Talk about a dirty soda. Coca-Cola that tastes like Oreo cookies—and Oreos that taste like Coke—may be coming as part of a potential collaboration between the megabrands. Leaked photographs of what look to be an Oreo-themed Coca-Cola Creations soda and Coke-flavored Oreo cookies have appeared on several social media sites in recent weeks. Images show a black Coke can decorated with a stack of Oreo cookies and the Oreo logo. The purported “cola flavored” cookie package shows a Coca-Cola logo embossed on an Oreo cookie. Additional photos have been published on Reddit. Both packages appear to show the Coca-Cola Creations logo, indicating the offering would be part of a series of limited-edition Coke flavors aimed at Gen Z. Separately, Oreo regularly makes special flavors available, many through collaborations such as the Star Wars or Sour Patch Kids varieties available now. Coca-Cola Creations are meant to stimulate interest in the Coca-Cola brand through products developed around interests of young people, such as gaming, music, or technology. They are typically built around notions of flavors—such as dreams, tears of joy or the future—and launched with novel online tactics. An Oreo deal would be the first in the series with a packaged goods or food brand. But Coke has partnered with brands in Creations offerings in the past—the League of Legends game in 2023 and with music producer Marshmello in 2022, for example. Food mashups involving sodas have long trended on TikTok, including the “dirty soda” trend involving soda mixed with milk or coffee creamers. Oreos have been famous even longer for being dunked into milk. Coke rival Pepsi has developed limited-time flavors based on unusual combinations such as maple syrup, Cracker Jack and Peeps.
