Deborah McBride, A+E Networks VP of corporate communications, dies at 45

Deborah McBride, VP of corporate communications at A+E Networks, died on March 18. She was 45. McBride is survived by family including her husband Brendan and their three children, Elyse, Sean and Margot (Margaret). McBride died following treatment for brain cancer, which she was diagnosed with in January. Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Rochester, New York, McBride had a two-decade career in media publicity and communications. Beginning at tech and gaming cable network G4 Media, McBride later held positions at Game Show Network, Turner Broadcasting and business analytics firm Dun & Bradstreet before joining A+E Networks in 2019. At A+E Networks, McBride worked with the ad sales team, including handling publicity around the media company’s upfront, ad tech and partnerships. “Deb was an earth angel who generated warmth, kindness, love, smarts and humor. Her laugh was contagious,” wrote Michael Feeney, executive VP of corporate communications at A+E Networks in an internal memo shared with Ad Age. “Deb was truly loved by all who knew her. She was an incredible person and a beloved colleague, and her imprint will be felt forever by all who knew her.” “Deb was an incredibly beloved colleague and everyone loved working with her,” added Vicky Kahn, senior VP of corporate and international communications, A+E Networks. “Deb herself was passionate about her role. She loved amplifying critical areas of our business … as well as handling internal communications such as internal notes, strategic press plans, collaborating on the Remote Together newsletter; DEI initiatives; and countless other endeavors—she put her full self into making sure A+E was always in the best light.” Services for McBride are private. McBride’s family is accepting donations to her children’s college funds.
