KELLOGG COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF KEEBLER

(March 26, 2001) -- Kellogg Co. of Battle Creek, Mich., today completed the acquisition of Keebler Foods Co. After five months of integration planning, Kellogg president and CEO Carlos Gutierrez said in a statement that the newly expanded company will "hit the ground running." By June, Kellogg is expected to move its Nutri-Grain bars and Rice Krispies Treats Squares businesses to Keebler's Elmhurst, Ill., facilities so that the brands gain from the cookie and cracker marketer's direct-store delivery system.
