DNA Signs Hamri, MTV's Segal Joins B-Reel and More
DNA has added director Sanaa Hamri to its roster. Morocco-born Hamri has worked on feature films, commercials, and music videos including the MTV VMA award-winning "Super Bass" music video for Nicki Minaj. She has also directed videos for stars including Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Sting and more. Her spot work has included commercials for Coors Light, Jenny Craig, J&J, and AT&T via agencies such as Havas, JWT, and BBDO. Film work includes Mariah Carey's live concert documentary, "The Adventures of Mimi," and the comedy "Just Wright" starring Queen Latifah, and she has also directed episodes for TV series including "Glee," "Shameless," "Nashville," and "Desperate Housewives."
B-Reel has added director Roye Segal to its roster. Segal joins from MTV Networks, where he served as director and creative director of MTV World from 2011 to early 2014. Recent work includes an unscripted mobile series for social media for AT&T featuring a group of L.A. kids who share their real-life problems, hopes and dreams in real time on Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. He has also directed a series of on-air spots for the AT&T "It Can Wait" campaign against distracted driving.
RSA Films has signed Brazilian director Pedro Becker for his first US commercial representation. Becker has worked for agencies such as Almap/BBDO, JWT, Lowe, Y&R and Saatchi & Saatchi, and has developed projects for brands such as Pepsi, Smirnoff, Volkswagen, Ford, GM, Nestlé, Visa, and Coca-Cola. He has been recognized with awards at festivals and events including Cannes, Profissionais do Ano Rede Globo, Clube de Criação de São Paulo, and FIAP.
Looker, the recently-launched fashion and beauty production company, has formed a partnership with Artmix Creative, a production company and talent agency representing still photographers for fashion and beauty. Among the photographers who will be available via the Looker / Artmix relationship are David Oldham, Davis Factor, Marc Baptiste, Mark Squires (whose shot of Zoe Saldana is pictured), Justin Coit and Sante DʼOrazio.
