Wieden & Kennedy Portland’s Associate Media Director Anjali Patel’s work on KFC has successfully turned it into one of the most talked-about brands in America and contributed to four consecutive years of sales growth. The approach helped W&K ultimately win KFC’s media planning and buying duties this year. She has played a key role in helping it to identify ways to seamlessly integrate Colonel Sanders into pop-culture moments. This year these included turning the Colonel into a WWE superstar in front of a live stadium audience, as well as teaming with Super Deluxe to create a Colonel-shaped cat climber and streaming hours of kitten content.
