There is a new TikTok trend where brands and creators shoot an event or a day like they are in a Wes Anderson film—bright colors, cheery music, symmetry and title cards, many of which start with, “You better not act like you’re in a Wes Anderson film.” AirBaltic, a Latvia-based airline, tried its hand at the trend, showing the first flight of the day at 7:45 a.m. The TikTok shows flight attendants opening the plane door, closing the overhead compartments, a shot of the plane and a synced head turn. It notched 1.4 million views.
In time for the coronation, PetSmart brought back Dana Carvey to star as King Charles for the brand’s latest campaign. In the TikTok, Carvey recalls when the public sought out Dalmatians in the wake of the release of the “101 Dalmatians” movie. Carvey asks, “Can we please not [bleep]ing do that again,” with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and instead encourages potential pet owners to adopt a shelter dog through PetSmart. His PSA got 6.4 million views on TikTok.
Social media teams are often the front lines of hearing what customers want to see. And for the Converse team, that feedback is fans asking for knee-high Converse to come back. The social team poked fun at fans’ request for the shoe in a TikTok that used a template of President Barack Obama and artist Kehinde Wiley unveiling the president’s portrait at the Smithsonian. “When the boss asks what your comment section looks like” sits at the top of the video. But instead of Obama’s portrait, the unveiling showed Converse’s TikTok comments section, all asking for the shoe. The video has 5 million views.
Hyundai is leaning into the auto industry’s electric vehicle push with its Kona EV, which was released earlier this year. To highlight the new car, Hyundai tapped travel and photographer creator Chelsea Yamase. Her TikTok showed off the car’s interior features including retractable cup holders, navigation screen, dashboard graphics, and sunroof, all set to a catchy beat. The simple video has over 12.5 million views.

After having worked with Jimmy John’s and Pizza Hut, rapper Yung Gravy is continuing to rack up brand deals. The most recent is with Dr Pepper for the soda brand’s new Strawberries and Cream flavor. Gravy made a new song, and hardcore fans can also buy a gravy boat and a silk shirt. His “Strawberries & Creamin’’” song is pretty catchy, and a little risqué, with lyrics including, “Sippin’ to completion.” But both Yung Gravy and Dr Pepper fans seem to love it—the TikTok set to the track has over 16 million views.
