Sorry, Britain, but America has gotten pretty good at this holiday advertising thing.
What started off largely as a U.K. specialty—beginning with the 2011 John Lewis spot “The Long Wait”—has become something of a worldwide phenomenon. And with apologies to the likes of Tesco—whose delightful “Become More Christmas” campaign narrowly missed the cut—our favorite holiday ads this year were solidly American (even if several of the spots are running globally).
