When Chirp—a company that markets wheel-shaped devices to alleviate back pain—attracted the attention of “Shark Tank,” the startup turned to Little Big Engine for its first brand awareness campaign to introduce the world to its products.
Little Big Engine powers small brands to big results with great creative
The agency created a series of hilarious mockumentary-style ads—including one in which character “Sharon” uses a Chirp to shed her irritable “Karen” persona brought on by back pain—as well as social posts with testimony from real customers.
Not only was the “Feel Good. Do More” campaign incredibly successful—the average click-through rate went from 1.4% to 9.8% and the company gained 12,000 new social followers—but the agency created the entire campaign for less than $160,000. That’s a big win for a small company trying to drive awareness in a tough economy.
It's clear that Little Big Engine has a knack for delivering impactful campaigns on a cost-conscious budget.
For client Hooked on Phonics, which was struggling to remain culturally relevant since its launch in the 1980s, the agency drew 12.9 million impressions and 32,000 likes for its “Intervention” campaign in which parents had to wean their Hooked on Phonics-addicted kid off the educational kit. The campaign was created for less than $115,000.
The Salt Lake City agency, founded by vets from big agencies including Wieden+Kennedy and 72andSunny, is proving that regardless of budget, any brand can drive awareness and revenue growth through good creative.
