Many shops like to promote their companies as “dream” agencies, but Pulp+Wire was awarded that distinction by one of its employees.
Why Pulp+Wire is a ‘dream’ agency
“A roster of rock star clients and an edgy agency tone of voice made Pulp+Wire the No. 1 choice for my next career move,” wrote Lindsey “Ashton” Bean, a strategist and account manager at the Portland, Maine-based agency, calling her employer of more than a year “one of those ‘dream’ agencies.”
Indeed, 19-year-old Pulp+Wire offers the usual perks such as unlimited PTO, Summer Fridays and a “stretch break” during daylight saving time that gives employees the chance to go home during daylight and hop back into work later in the day. It also provides a 401K employees need not pay into and an automatic 3% profit sharing for staffers.
But as a 100% female-founded, funded and managed agency, the shop also recognizes the value of giving back to its community and to women-focused causes in particular. Last year, Pulp+Wire donated nearly $25,000 to eight Maine-based causes such as the nonprofit A Company of Girls, which uses the arts to empower young women, and the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute, which supports female high school students.
