Coffee mate’s first Super Bowl spot stars a dancing tongue, fueled by the brand’s new at-home cold foam. The 30-second ad, from Wieden+Kennedy New York, finds two guys watching TV. One of them sprays the cold foam onto his iced coffee. After taking a sip, his head falls back and his tongue becomes the star, dancing to Shania Twain’s custom-made song for the brand, “Gimme cold foam.” “I’m a dancing tongue and I like the taste of cold foam,” she sings. The coffee sipper’s tongue twists and contorts, even hitting a Coffee mate-branded gong before jumping out of his mouth. The dancing tongue idea came from consumer feedback that Coffee mate cold foam creates a “party in your mouth,” according to the brand. “We scoured the internet to find the world’s most talented tongue dancer, watching over nine hours of auditions with their very real tongues,” Daniel Jhung, president of Nestlé USA’s beverage and coffee business, said in a statement. “It was a strange day to say the least, but after watching the ad, you’ll see why we are exceptionally pleased with our choice of tongue talent.” Coffee mate’s new cold foam products include Italian sweet creme, Toll House brown butter chocolate chip cookie and French vanilla.
