A Snowman Get His Own Holiday Party in the Belgian Lottery's Cute Animation
Mortierbrigade, Parabella and Blinkink Worked on Charming Stop Motion Film
Dec 13, 2017
From "The Snowman" onwards, anthropomorphizing snowmen at Christmas is a popular theme in seasonal fare, and we have to say when it comes to commercials nothing quite yet beats the John Lewis and Dougal Wilson effort from 2012. But here's another cute spot from the Belgian National Lottery in which a snowman experiences some rather human feelings.
In the stop motion animated ad, created by Mortierbrigade and produced by Blinkink with animation by Parabella, the snowman sees a happy family party taking place inside the house; he's outside, standing in the snow as snowmen do, and feels despondent. The woodland animals take pity on him and rally together to create a makeshift holiday party using buckets, icicles, tree roots, flowerpots and a wheelbarrow.
Belgian artist Spencer the Rover created the score for the film, and the lead animators were Andy Biddle and Dan Gill. It's running on Belgian national television and in cinemas.
