Abandoned pets and unfinished puzzles mark the return to normalcy in Uber's latest ad
U.K. campaign from Mother includes TV, radio and outdoor work
Editor's Pick
As the U.K. waits to hear whether June 21 will herald the end of all social distancing, Uber is readying itself for the big comeback.
A new campaign from Mother London, including TV, radio and outdoor ads, reminds people "your Uber awaits" as they head back to both work and socializing. The spot, directed by Martin Werner via Academy Films, features images of abandoned laptops, baking tins, jigsaws, exercise bikes, cats and Legos in empty rooms, as their inhabitants rush out to jump in an Uber (with echoes of the recent U.S. work from the likes of Extra). "New York Groove" by Ace Frehley makes for an uplifting soundtrack.
Radio ads have a similar vibe, with the sounds of dripping taps and typewriter keys turning into the rhythm of the track and the murmurs of socializing, while the outdoor creative reminds you what's back—such as "plans," "actual face time" and "staying out."
