Argos is promoting the ease of shopping via the brand's many channels, including its "Click & Collect" service and home delivery, with a festive ad that revolves around an animated, gremlin-like creature who's determined to mess with Christmas.
The spot, created by The&Partnership and directed by Ian Pons Jewell via Friend London, depicts the impish "fool" breaking fairy lights, hiding the sticky tape, ripping the paper off gifts and knocking the angel from the top of the tree as a family desperately tries to prepare for the holidays. He even turns snow into rain, but ultimately, Argos ruins his plans. The retailer makes replacing missing items a cinch--and then an Argos delivery driver kicks the imp into the back of his van, where there area a host of other creatures like himself.
Yan Elliott, Joint Executive Creative Director at The&Partnership London, says: “Every Christmas, something goes wrong in the run-up to the big day--it’s inevitable. Our cheeky Christmas fool personifies that. We hope this mischief-filled advert helps ease the stress for families this year--reminding them that, whatever curveballs Christmas throws at them, Argos is on hand to save the day.”
