Ignore the cats puking rainbows as Audible gets your new year off to a mindful start
Spot from Fold7 emphasizes the calming power of audiobooks
Editor's Pick
Amazon-owned Audible is kicking off the new year with a reminder about the calming power of audiobooks contrasted with the overwhelming amount of content in our digital lives.
In a U.K. campaign, we see a woman looking at her phone while waiting for a train. The apps literally jump off the screen in front of her, as she's bombarded with content including games, news, celebrities, a host of potential dates, a cat puking a rainbow, hashtags about food and more. Eventually she's had enough, as she plugs in her headphones and opens the Audible app to hear the calming voice of actor David Tennant narrating an audiobook. The ad concludes with the line “The difference is Audible."
"Our latest campaign continues to remind people that there’s a more enriching alternative to mindless applications, and that their time could be better spent with Audible," said Audible Director of Brand Marketing Matthew Parker, in a statement.
The spot was created via Fold7 and directed by Simon Willows via Agile Films.
