As many around the country begin to work from home, there’s likely growing uncertainty as to what this “new normal” will ultimately mean for people and their jobs. BBDO devised this simple but fun way to tell its staffers that the agency has their back—a home office logo generator.
The microsite BBDOyourhome.com lets any BBDO employee input their own address to get a customized logo in the agency’s signature Gotham Bold/Black typeface reflecting their current office locale. The logo can be used in team members' email signatures, and some have even used it in photos showing off their "new" agency digs.
The agency is plugging the idea in a humorous way by saying “BBDO opens hundreds of new offices.”
“It is important that we continue to think of ourselves as one office,” said Kirsten Flanik, President and CEO of BBDO New York, the office that came up with the idea. “But, for right now, we are not just one big office space in Midtown Manhattan—we are made up of many unique people, places and spaces.”
The effort kicked off in NYC but other BBDO offices wanted in so the shop revised the code so the idea could scale globally. “Now we have ‘new offices’ opening up all over the world,” the agency said in a statement.
The demo video promoting the logo generator reads, “We are all at BBDO, wherever we are. Stay safe.”
