McKinney has created what it calls "possibly the first ever beer-dispensing arcade game" for client Big Boss Brewing Company. It features a flash-based game, "The Last Barfighter", which was created completely in-house by McKinney as well as the retro-style arcade machine itself, which dispenses beer when you win. Players choose one of five characters representing five Big Boss brews: Hell's Belle, Bad Penny, Angry Angel, Blanco Diablo and High Roller. They fight in three rounds using basic fighting moves like punches and kicks as well as signature moves like fire throwing, unicorn horn impaling and butt slaps. The best player of the three rounds wins and a sample of beer is automatically dispensed via the Beercade taps. The arcade machine itself was constructed out of wood and features custom-illustrated pictures. While there's only one machine for now, Big Boss plans to take the idea to beer festivals and bars, and is also considering tie-ins with March Madness.
