The Girl Store : Buy a Girl Her Life Back

'Buying' a girl, before someone else does

Editor's Pick

At The Girl Store, consumers can help sponsor an Indian girl's education by 'buying' her. The e-commerce site is themed around the idea that you can 'buy' a girl, therefore saving her from being sold into marriage or sex slavery. Visitors can choose to make a donation or buy a specific item, such as a backpack, workbooks or school shoes, for a 'real' girl, such as Gita, aged 5, pictured on the site.

The Girl Store has been created by StrawberryFrog on behalf of Nanhi Kali, a project that provides primary education for underprivileged female children. The agency also helped create a bricks and mortar Girl Store, opening at 501 Lexington Avenue, NY tomorrow.
