Adidas' New Kicks Double as a Public Transport Pass
Brand Teams with City of Berlin on Limited-Edition Sneaker That Gives Access to BVG for Entire Year
Editor's Pick
Adidas Originals has partnered with Berlin's public transportation system Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) on a new pair of kicks featuring the exclusive pattern seen on BVG vehicle seats--but even better, the shoes double as a pass that gives wearers free access to public transport for an entire year.
German agency Jung Von Matt was behind the idea, which lives on in a limited run of 500 pairs of sneakers. The kicks will be sold for 180 Euro starting January 16 at the Adidas Originals Flagship and Overlin in Berlin. Those wearing the shoes will then be able to ride all BVG vehicles without additional cost through December 31, 2018. The new shoe's debut coincides with the 90th anniversary of the BVG.
