Cards Against Humanity will pay 2020’s non-voters to publicly apologize and vote this year

Just days after Burger King bribed Brazilians (with free food) to vote in their country’s elections, Cards Against Humanity has announced something similar—promising up to $100 to people who didn’t vote in 2020 if they publicly apologize and make a plan to vote this time. The initiative is called “Cards Against Humanity Pays You to Give a Shit.” And if it sounds like a feel-good, bipartisan get-out-the-vote campaign, well, no, it’s not. Cards Against Humanity despises Donald Trump and is out to defeat him. The public apology part includes having to post “Donald Trump is a human toilet” in social media. And the company flatly says that blue-leaning non-voters in swing states (and swing districts) will receive much higher payouts—up to $100—than red-leaning non-voters, who may receive as little as 1 cent. The site is a treasure trove of hilarity, as is the press release. “Stop masturbating and listen up, America,” the brand says. “Four years ago, half of you didn’t vote. We don’t care what your excuse was—My vote doesn’t matter! Both sides are the same!—it all sounds like WAAAHHHHH! to us.
