Editor's Pick
Chiquita bananas is the latest brand to redesign its logo in response to the coronavirus pandemic and to encourage social distancing.
The brand posted an image on Instagram of its iconic blue and yellow sticker with the illustration of its Miss Chiquita mascot removed. It's accompanied by the words: "I'm already home. Please do the same and protect yourself. #stayhome."
According to a Chiquita spokesperson, the effort was developed by the Chiquita digital team together with Portuguese digital agency YoungNetwork Group.
Other brands to have rejiggered logos to encourage consumers to stay at home include McDonald's, which separated the Golden Arches in a social media post from Brazil, Coke, which separated out the letters of its italic script on a Times Square billboard and Latin tech company Mercado Libre, which replaced its logo of a handshake with one of an elbow bump.
