This week, Chris Pratt looked awfully cozy with his new partner: TravisMathew. The men’s lifestyle brand debuted a new campaign, led by agency The Kimba Group, featuring the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor, its first Hollywood brand ambassador.
Pratt, an avid golfer, appears in the campaign’s two initial spots. In one, he’s asked to imagine one word to describe TravisMathew. He gives a spiel about the brand’s athletic wear, but when he’s pressed for just a single descriptor, the video gets dreamy. In a montage set to rom-com-esque music, the performer softly caresses a collared shirt, examines his backside in a pair of pants and nuzzles his cheek against a hoodie.
“Perfect,” he whispers. Then, snapping out of his trance, corrects, “And professional. My feelings toward the brand are totally professional.”
The second spot focuses on TravisMathew’s Perfect Pant. As Pratt shows off his 'fit in a mirror, he wonders if he can be as perfect as the pants are. He wears them to practice lines, but doesn’t quite finesse the delivery. He sports them during a session of indoor putting to destructive results. Even when he tries to hang the pants on a perfectly organized rod, it comes crashing down.
“It’s definitely just the pants,” he says.
The spots are the first of multiple pieces of content that will spotlight Pratt’s partnership with the brand and will air on digital platforms and streaming.
In November, Pratt’s partnership with TravisMathew began with a charity event benefiting the Special Olympics, for which the actor is a global ambassador. The event generated over $1 million for the non-profit.
“Working on this campaign was a blast,” said Pratt to Ad Age in an email. “I’m really proud of what we came up with, and can’t wait to share my love of TravisMathew, a brand that I’ve been wearing on the golf course for years.”
