Christoph Waltz acts out financial advice in quirky Allianz ads

Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam crafted ‘Start Making Cents,’ a series of six entertaining films

Financial advice isn’t the most scintillating topic for an ad campaign. But Allianz, the insurance and asset management company, has found a way to make it not just entertaining but charming—in a series of six short films from Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam that star Oscar winner Christoph Waltz.

In the wordless spots, Waltz acts out the financial lessons as metaphors. For example, the investing tip “Only take risks you’re comfortable with” is illustrated by Waltz eating a plateful of spaghetti and sauce while wearing an impeccable white suit.

Rather than advertise specific products, the series focuses on financial literacy education. The work follows the global launch of the “Prepared for life” campaign last year.
