Couch from Jeremy Allen White’s Calvin Klein ad hits Facebook Marketplace in Mojo Supermarket stunt

For sale: Red corduroy couch, lightly but memorably used. Everyone wants a piece of Jeremy Allen White’s Calvin Klein campaign, and now a pretty big piece of it has popped up on Facebook Marketplace—the sofa upon which the “Bear” star lounged in his underwear. To refresh your memory, here’s the CK video we’re talking about: And here’s the Facebook Marketplace listing, posted by Kate Krupa, offering the “Red Corduroy Sofa from famous ripped chef shoot.” “Guess what? I've got the hottest seat in town—the legendary red corduroy couch that a famous celebrity chef (in not-so-many clothes) sat on in the commercial everyone’s talking about,” she writes in the listing. “Long story short, my husband (who works for an agency that works with Facebook) asked me ‘why don’t you list it on Facebook Marketplace?’ So here it is! Know there’s lots of fans out there who’d love to get their hands on it. Must be willing to pick up in New York.” The listing says the couch is free. It’s not clear exactly how Mojo tracked it down, but we have it on good authority that it is the real thing. It’s also unclear which lucky White fan might end up with it, but we assume Krupa has been inundated with messages. The whole thing was dreamed up by Mojo Supermarket, the agency mentioned in Krupa’s listing. (She is indeed married to a creative director there.) While clearly not a traditional ad campaign, the stunt is intended to remind people of what Facebook Marketplace has to offer. “We saw this as a fun way to show that Facebook Marketplace is a place where people can find whatever they’re looking for, even the unexpected or famous,” a rep at Meta told Ad Age.
