Craig David promotes sustainable train travel in Trainline's music video
The singer worked with Mother London and Golden Wolf on animated film inspired by Japanese cartoons

Trainline.com, the U.K. train booking app, is reminding people of the environmental reasons to travel by train in a new campaign that sees it partner with British singer-songwriter Craig David.
The campaign is by Mother London, features David performing a new song, titled "Better Days (I came by train)’" inspired by his passion for the environment. The track is accompanied by an gorgeously animated music video, produced and directed by Golden Wolf at Stink in a style that pays homage to Japanese anime.
The video sees David taking a train journey through a series of landscapes. Via some nightmarish scenarios in which he sees scenes of devastation by climate change, eventually he arrives at a more beautiful destination in harmony with Mother Nature (who's personified herself as a giant, green goddess in the story). Golden Wolf "wanted to motivate people through pleasure and an emotional connection” said Ingi Erlingsson, founder/CEO of Golden Wolf, in a statement.
The lyrics of the song point to David feeling happy that he traveled by train, because "just the little things can make a beautiful change." In addition to the music video, which directs viewers to Trainline's sustainable travel microsite, icamebytrain.com, the wider campaign includes billboards which will appear at key locations nationwide, highlighting the reasons to choose train travel.
Trainline hopes the campaign will act as a rallying cry for people to book journeys by train rather than other forms of transport as a positive environmental choice. While it's unfortunate that the campaign is launching at a time when the U.K. is dogged by rail strikes, the environmental message comes across loud and clear.
"With 'I Came By Train' our ambition is to inspire better choices for our planet and turn this phrase into brag for when people reach their destination,” stated Jo McClintock, VP of brand at Trainline.
