Those of you who are just starting to thaw out after this past dreadful winter will likely appreciate these new ads for Corona, created out of The Community. The anthem spot and a shorter ad actually take the point of view of Mr. Frost himself as he recites a slightly envious, but doting love letter to his fellow season. "Dear Summer," he says, "While you're out there enjoying the Sun, I'm out here shivering my icebergs off. And is it me? Or does the Sun stay out way later with you?"
More cute lines follow, set against a series of playful vignettes of attractive young folks (Millenials!) having loads of fun in the seasonal heat, hiking, enjoying the beach, bonfires, barbecues and more. Winter finally throws up his hands saying he can't even compete, when it dawns on him that Summer even has its own beer: Corona.
"Corona Extra is Summer," explained The Community CCO/Co-Founder Jose Molla. "No one knows this better than someone who has spent all of his existence watching Summer have all the fun, longing for all the joys and beauty of its counterpart: Winter."
The ads were originally created for the Hispanic market, but the positive reactions to the spots after testing with consumers and distributors convinced Corona parent Constellation Brands to broadcast them in both English and Spanish to reach total market.
