GE Machines Become Music-Makers in New Brand Film
Musician Matthew Dear Makes Tunes out of Brand's Equipment
Editor's Pick
GE is the latest marketer to show that its high-powered machines can have a second life as music makers in this new film created out of The Barbarian Group and directed by Tucker Walsh of Mssng Peces. The brand tapped electronic music artist and DJ Matthew Dear and one of its engineers Andrew Gorton to compose "Drop Science," an original track comprising sounds from GE engines, power turbines and medical equipment. The full track can be downloaded off the GE Soundcloud site.
GE isn't the first brand to make beautiful B to B music. Last month, German engineering conglomerate Siemens turned its wind power into a symphonic production of Johann Strauss' "Blue Danube" with the help of musician Will Bates and its agency Ogilvy & Mather.
