You don’t have to be a certified esthetician to know that some skincare transgressions are just … sinful.

And well, it turns out the temptation to commit such heinous asks can be attributed to a sneaky devil on your shoulder, per e.l.f. Cosmetics’ first global campaign for e.l.f. Skin. “Divine Skintervention,” created by Day One Agency, stars actress and comedian Megan Stalter as she whispers diabolical skincare temptations in the ear of some unsuspecting zillennial.

Washing your face with a bar of soap, going to sleep with makeup on and other transgressions come up as cardinal sins of skincare in which the “sinfluencer” delights. But of course, in this humorous battle between good and evil, e.l.f. Cosmetics’ e.l.f. Skin emerges as the righteous victor.

The campaign was inspired by a Statista study that found Gen Z uses more skincare than any other generation, yet when compared to internal e.l.f. studies, admit they too commit skincare sins. The campaign is fun and relatable. After all, it’s difficult to cast the first stone when you, too, hath committed sin.

The campaign rolls out across social media, streaming television and out-of-home platforms, with the hero spot and several other cuts airing on major streaming platforms such as Disney+, Peacock, Amazon, Prime, Hulu, Netflix and Paramount+.

The campaign also features an interactive landing page in the U.S. and the U.K. where consumers can “confess” their skincare sins and receive personalized product recommendations.
