'Vagnastics' is EOS' aerobics-inspired take on shaving lady parts

The pursuit of smooth skin has made contortionists of many of us, twisting bodies to put razors in just the right hard-to-reach places. Skin care brand Eos channels the best of the ‘80s in a campaign that reimagines some common positions as aerobic exercises, complete with spandex leotards, short shorts and star wipes. “Vagnastics,” as it’s called, natch, features an instructor with teased hair and artfully slouched leg warmers delivering affirmations like “Let’s get loose before shaving that goose.” Flanked by backup exercisers, she demonstrates moves like the Wartime Captain, reminiscent of Washington crossing the Delaware (or Captain Morgan), the underleg Cello, the two-handed Tripod and the two-person Buddy System. Select exercises get their own short cuts that are running on social media. “People who choose to shave their privates should feel absolutely zero shame in talking about it,” said Soyoung Kang, chief marketing officer at Eos, in a statement. “Yet, there is a veil of taboo clinging to the subject. Vagnastics is here to help free us from that.” The spot from Mischief @ No Fixed Address continues an unapologetic positioning for the brand’s shaving cream line, which previously partnered with TikTok influencer Carly Joy to create “Bless Your F#@%ing Cooch,” a NSFW product line that sold out in 48 hours. “Dads teaching their sons how to use a razor is the classic image we have in our head when we think about shaving tutorials, not people awkwardly contorting their bodies into weird and wonderful shapes to tidy their genitals,” said Bianca Guimaraes, partner and executive creative director at Mischief, in a statement. “Shaving down there requires flexibility and poise. Vagnastics can teach you these fundamentals. Normalize shaving down there and liberate your lady bits today.”
