Father’s Day ads from the Ad Council show the raw emotion of being a first-time dad

Give yourself a pat on the back, Dad. You’re doing a good job. With Father’s Day coming up this weekend, a new Ad Council PSA created by Campbell Ewald beautifully depicts the intimate and personal moments and emotions felt by first-time dads. The #Dadication campaign captures the heartwarming stories of three dads—Alex, Jose and Sammy—as they share their fatherhood firsts. In each spot, the father comes from a different background and dwells on different aspects of fatherhood that excites, surprises or leaves him in awe. Developed bro bono, the campaign aims to encourage and celebrate the efforts of fathers overcoming everyday parenting challenges to be active and present in their children's lives. It also invites dads who have children under 18 to reflect on the ways they can be there for their kids by visiting Fatherhood.gov for tips and resources. The campaign comes as recent data shows one-third of all fathers say they’re less involved in their child’s life than they’d like to be, due to an array of life challenges. The heartwarming campaign is a lovely reminder to us all that dads are trying to figure out how to be good parents just as much as moms are, and they deserve reassurance too.
