In Brazil, non-profit group Make Them Smile created a food truck that took leftover ingredients from restaurants, turned them into meals cooked on board, and then fed homeless people in Rio de Janeiro. Sao Paulo agency Africa, part of Brazil's Grupo ABC, facilitated the "Feed Truck" project, which distributed the meals in downtown Rio,Copacabana beach and other neighborhoods in March. Well-known chefs were among those helping to prepare plates of food, and the project was featured on Brazilian TV.
