Anomaly L.A.'s First Work for Beats by Dre Shows Michael Phelps, Pharrell, Rebel Wilson and More Living Joyful, Wireless Lives
Anomaly L.A. Debuts Star-Studded Effort in Its First Work for the Brand
Editor's Pick
In its first campaign out of Anomaly L.A., Beats by Dre has assembled a cavalcade of superstars for its new global campaign "Got No Strings," promoting the brand's range of wireless products.
Michael Phelps, Nicki Minaj, Karlie Kloss, Rebel Wilson, Steve Buscemi, Pharrell Williams and Amber Rose are among the celebrities we see incorporating the devices in their lives -- set to the nostalgic "I've Got No Strings" from Disney's "Pinocchio."
It's a joyous, fun-filled film -- intercut with scenes from the classic film in which Pinocchio finally becomes untethered from his marionette controls, we see the stars hard at work or play or both. Phelps easily pumps out the pushups over his new baby Boomer, Pharrell cheerfully conducts a band performance, Buscemi tangoes with a flight attendant and Amber Rose Facetimes -- and trips -- all unencumbered, thanks to the wire-free headsets.
The spot debuted online today and will first air on broadcast on October 20. The campaign will span across film, digital, social and out of home and promotes the wireless Beats, Beats Solo Wireless, and Powerbeats Wireless products.
The rest of the cast includes DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Ben Simmons,William Chan, Young M.A, Sayo, Juno Temple, Karen Civil, Liza Koshy, Al Rocco, Miyavi and PartyNextDoor.
The debut of this spot, right now, might strike some as ironic, given the skewering that parent company Apple saw with the debut of its own wireless Air Pods. Also, with the message of "Got No Strings," election watchers might find an uncanny parallel to Republican candidate Donald Trump's recent tweet regarding being freed from the the "shackles" of his party.
