Scotts' Lawn Care Is So Effective, It Will Make Your Grass a Green Screen
So Says New Spot Targeting Toronto Film Festival-Goers
Editor's Pick
Movies special effects and gardening aren't traditional bedfellows, but Scotts, the lawn care brand, combines the two in its latest spot from Canada promoting its Turf Builder Green Max.
The spot, by Rethink, launched on Facebook during the Toronto International Film Festival to target movie production people. It shows a man appearing to be climbing up a sheer cliff face, until it's revealed that he's actually crawling along a lawn, which is so green it's been used as a green screen.
As part of the campaign, Scotts also created live stunts on other lawns around the city, where it invited people to participate in being filmed on the grass green screens. Participants were able to select from a variety of scenes including Paris, shark infested waters and even outer space, before lying down in the grass to be green screened and photographed by professional photographer Stephen MacLeod.
