Sausage Cookies, Anyone? Jimmy Dean Offers a Meaty Alternative to Holiday Treats

Brand Is Whetting Your Appetite With Social Campaign by Ogilvy

Description

Who needs cinammon and sugary treats for the holidays when you can stuff your face with meaty goodness instead?

Jimmy Dean offers a savory alternative to Christmas confections: sausage cookies. The brand is encouraging people to make them using its "sausage dough" and cookie cutters and decorate with toppings like herbs, cheese and peppers. The campaign, by Ogilvy Chicago, includes a "How To" video on Facebook, Pinterest ads that pop up during people's searches for "holiday cookies" and a link-up with chef George Duran, who gives a live cooking demonstration on Facebook. There's also a social teaser video featuring Santa.

It's a fun idea for holiday breakfasts--and frankly, we can't believe no one's thought of it before.
