Panasonic Recreates Four Genres of Hollywood Blockbuster in Spot for 4K TVs

Brave and Framestore Worked on Ad Promoting Technology's Cinematic Qualities

Panasonic aims to show off the cinematic qualities of its 4K TVs in a new spot that mimics a big-budget Hollywood trailer.

Aimed at bringing to life Panasonic's "Hollywood to your Home" slogan for its 4K HDR technology, the film sees the same actress appear in four different film genres -- at a masked ball, as a film noir heroine, an astronaut and a superhero.

Agency Brave worked with Benjamin Kratzin and Christopher Schlierf of Framestore Pictures, known as The Directors Duo, on the spot, which was shot in 4K and mastered in HDR. Each scene designed to illustrate specific features of the TV's picture quality.

The spot will run online and on in-store TVs in the U.K., New Zealand and Europe and as a TV commercial in New Zealand.

Liam Fenton, creative director at Brave, commented in a statement: "Many creatives dream of making a big-budget movie -- and to be able to work with the best in the business to create a trailer for four different Hollywood-style features in one, all dramatising the benefits of Panasonic's 4K HDR performance, was an unforgettable experience."
