BAFTA this weekend awarded its Best British Short Film award to "Home," a short film for the UNHCR co-produced by Black Sheep Studios, BBH London's in-house production unit, Somesuch, and DokuFest, the Kosovan film festival.

The 20-minute film, the trailer for which is seen here, is supported by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. it aired at film festivals last year and from today is available to watch online (paid) via Curzon Home Cinema. Wider distribution will follow shortly.

Starring Jack O'Connell and Holliday Grainger, it tells the story of a refugee journey in reverse, with a comfortable English family experience leaving their home and setting out for Eastern Europe. Written and directed by Daniel Mulloy, it aims to remind the viewer that refugees are just people like anyone else.

The film was funded and produced by Black Sheep Studios, Somesuch and DokuFest, with donations from Open Society Foundation-London, United Agencies in Kosovo, USAID and the film's cast and crew, among many others. Coldplay, Dizzee Rascal and Wiley all donated music for the soundtrack.
